Tan Kok Kiong

Professor Kok Kiong, Tan received his PhD in 1995 from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Prior to joining the university, he was a research fellow at SIMTech. He is currently an associate professor with NUS and his current research interests are in precision motion control and instrumentation, advanced process control and autotuning, and general industrial automation.

Ge Shuzhi, Sam

Professor Shuzhi Sam Ge is the Director of Social Robotics Lab, Interactive Digital Media Institute, and Supervisor of Edutainment Robotics Lab, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the National University of Singapore. He obtained his BSc from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and PhD and DIC from Imperial College London. He has (co)-authored three books: Adaptive Neural Network Control of Robotic Manipulators (World Scientific, 1998), Stable Adaptive Neural Network Control (Kluwer, 2001) and Switched Linear Systems: Control and Design (Springer-Verlag, 2005), over 300 international journal and conference papers, and edited a book: Autonomous Mobile Robots: Sensing, Control, Decision Making and Applications (Taylor and Francis, 2006).

Prahlad Vadakkepat

Professor Vadakkepat, an Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore is the founder secretary of the Federation of International Robot-soccer Association [FIRA] and currently its General Secretary. He is the founder director to an entrepreneurial start-up "Robhatah Robotic Solutions" in Singapore and Bangalore. His initiative among others includes an international conference on Computational Intelligence, Robotics and Autonomous Systems which is being held successfully since 2001. He was the general chair to the FIRA Robot World Cup and Congress Singapore 2005. He was the General Program Chair to the FIRA Robot World Congress Incheon 2009 and the General Chair to the FIRA Robot World Cup and Congress Bangalore 2010.

Abdullah Al Mamun

Professor Abdullah Al Mamun obtained B.Tech. (Hons.) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur (India) in 1985 and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1997. He has a variety of professional experience in academic, research and industrial environment. He has been with NUS as a faculty member since January, 1999. Prior to that, he had worked in various capacities for Maxtor (Singapore) Ltd., Data Storage Institute (Singapore), and Siemens (Bangladesh) Ltd. Research interests of Mamun include precision mechatronics, servomechanism in data storage devices, intelligent control, and mobile robots. He is the main author of the book titled "Hard Disk Drive: Mechatronics and Control" with two coauthors from Data Storage Institute. The book was published in 2006 by CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Publications, USA. He is author or co-author of 31 articles published in premium international journals, more than 40 articles presented in international conferences, one book chapter and co-editor of two Springer proceedings.
